Exaltabo Te, Domine • STUNNING LIVE PERFORMANCE!
Yesterday I received a phenomenal gift: a stunning recording of Exaltabo Te, Domine, as sung by Cappella, the University of Mary (Bismarck, ND) Chapel Choir, under the direction of Dr. Rebecca Raber. I could not be more grateful for this gift—not least of all because the recording is so very superb and sensitive. So, a special thank you to Dr. Raber and the whole university choir!
You can learn more about Cappella here.
As a reminder, this piece has been released into the creative commons, and anyone can download / print / perform / record it. Be sure to share it with your friends and choir directors!
If you would like to teach this piece to your choir or schola, a suite of comprehensive practice tracks is available on YouTube. This arrangement is suitable for all of Lent, but it is particularly well-suited for Ash Wednesday during the offertory (or perhaps even during the distribution of ashes).
We kindly ask that do us the favor of sharing this with colleagues and choir directors, and don’t forget to subscribe to our YouTube channel which has over 800 practice tracks of sacred works, including over 200 practice tracks of Fr. Weber’s english propers.
Last, but by no means least, please take a moment to check out our extensive catalogue of psalmody—most of which is rendered in a modern, approachable style, but with melodies distilled from ancient chants!
UPDATES: a dedicated “Practice Track Repository” with ad-free mp3’s is available here in addition to the YouTube videos. And versions exist now that feature verses in English, verses in Latin, as well as a completely Spanish version (refrain and verses).
If you like what you’ve seen here today, you should also review our Free Resources page, which has recently been revamped and updated to include many free scores such as this one.
