FREE SCORE: Alleluia ‘cum Magnificat’

A few weeks ago I was perusing a collection of plainchant known as Cantus Selecti (loosely translated, “Selected Songs”) and discovered a lovely setting of the Magnificat (No. 136) which included a delightful tripartite alleluia as a refrain of sorts.

Intrigued, I extracted this Alleluia and adapted it for use at Mass. (Edit: I have since discovered that this is an option in the Source & Summit platform as well, so it would seem I’m hardly the first!).

Click the image to download it as a PDF graphic for worship aids.

I am offering my arrangement for free to anyone who would like to employ its use at their parish. Copious white space has been left on the second page below the verse formula so that you can add pointed text and use this for any occasion that warrants an Alleluia. Comprehensive practice tracks—a signature feature of this ministry—are available here.

I pray you will find this of interest, and that it may serve as an easy and accessible way to introduce some authentic chant to parishes where it may currently be lacking.

Pax,
James
