Psalterium Currens Project

A few months ago, someone brought the “Psalterium Currens” project to my attention. A group of men from the Netherlands who have gathered for decades to chant the divine office, decided to record the entire book of psalms using chant tones found in ancient manuscripts, particularly the St. Gallen codex.

Recently, there was a sale on the complete recorded collection and so I decided to take the plunge. May I just say: it. is. magnificent.

To find out more about the project, visit: http://www.psalmchant.com

There is also an interesting mini-documentary about the project which you can view below.

The sale is still on, and to get the deal, order from this page: http://www.psalterium.nl/the-psalterium-project/ Physical CDs as well as instant downloads are available. As a bonus, you’ll also receive a hard-bound book that has the antiphons handwritten out with each psalm text so you can sing along. (And if you don’t want/need your copy, I’d be happy to have it!)
