Looking Ahead: Confirmation 2023

As promised at rehearsal, here’s a list of resources to prepare for confirmation Mass next week.

Dum Sanctificatus (procession of the confirmands)

All the voice parts are time stamped in the same video.

Psalm 117 (same as above; all the parts are time stamped in the same video)

Here’s an organ-only practice track of the Alleluia. NB: there are timestamps for each part, including a slowed-down version of the coda starting seven-and-a-half minutes in. You can click on these time stamps for your part and you will hear the organ play your part louder than the others.

And here is a human demo where it goes right into the coda, short and sweet. Each part is time stamped.

Don’t forget: there will be long organ interludes between each verse of the Veni Creator Spiritus.

For Lead Me, Lord, first we have an organ-only practice track that solos out each part, followed by a lovely real choral rendition with organ, and a second that is a cappella, which is quite interesting.

Notice how warm and gentle this sounds.

Suddenly, there was heard… (Communion antiphon)

Qui vult venire post me (He who wishes to come after me)

Any sopranos feel like learning a descant?
