FREE Vernacular Adaptation: Venite Post Me
Please enjoy this free vernacular adaptation of Venite Post Me: Faciam Vos Piscatores Hominum (Come after me, and I will make you fishers of men) for the 3rd Sunday in Ordinary Time (Year A & B).
Included in the PDF is an excerpt from Communio with English Verses which is freely available from the CMAA.
It should be acknowledged that, as with any transcription, certain sacrifices have to be made, and it is never as perfect as the original. This is to be expected. Consequently, this transcription will not be to everyone’s taste, and that is OK. If it suits your church music program or group, you are encouraged to use it. If you think that other options are preferable, you are encouraged to use those.
I will also mention that there are also other adaptations of this chant (such as the Palmer/Burgess) which are available on gregobase, however this takes a slightly different approach to syllable placement, and features a new translation rendered by JJR for ServiamScores / PsalliteDomino.com.
As with all the resources we share, we would love it if you send us links of your own performances!
