Easter Morning 2023

  1. Prelude:

    1. Choral Fanfare for Christ the King by H. Hamilton Smith

    2. With a Voice of Singing by Martin Shaw

  2. Entrance Hymn: Jesus Christ is Ris’n Today!

  3. Entrance Antiphon: Fr. Weber #679

  4. Vidi Aquam

  5. Gloria (Community Mass)

  6. Psalm 118 “This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad!

  7. Easter Sequence*
We will do my arrangement with organ interludes, based upon the harmonies formulated by Chanoine Revert at Notre Dame in Paris, although we will sing it straight, rather than metrically. For the curious, here’s what the original sounds like! Now for something calmer that will help you more practically: here’s a plain recording of the original chant to help you with the melody-only portions.

  8. Eastertide Alleluia
(*see below for mp3 organ demo; NB: we will repeat the Alleluia after the Gospel is read.)

  9. Offertory Hymn: Jesus is Risen, Let us Sing! (Lasst us erfreuen)

  10. (Sanctus & Agnus from Proulx’s Community Mass—we will sing this for all of Eastertide)

  11. Communion Antiphon: Fr. Weber #698

  12. At the Lamb’s High Feast

  13. O Sons and Daughters (O filii et filiae)

  14. Repeat performances of Pitoni’s Cantate Domino and Lotti’s Regina Caeli (see Easter Vigil list for links). Easter morning we will sing the Regina Caeli at the end of mass with all the verve and vigor we can muster!

We will take the Wednesday after Easter off; (you’ll have earned it!—to put it mildly!) however for those who are able (and willing) to make it, we can re-group on Divine Mercy Sunday (Easter II) and just have a repeat performance of With a voice of singing coupled with Psalm 118, “Give thanks to the Lord for He is good…” and more of our favorite Easter hymns.
