Pope Francis Requiem (Diocesan Choir)

Greetings All—
Here is our ordo for Tuesday evening.

If you can, please arrive by 4:45 so we can attempt to warm up together, and finesse the chanting a bit. (I fully recognize that some of you will be coming from a distance or will be rushing over directly from work and therefore be unable to attend the warmup.)

As usual, I’ve placed a form here that I would be grateful if you could fill out just so I have official contact and a head count.

I will have booklets prepared for you, so you do not need to bring anything with you.

Practice resources are listed below the ordo.

Dress code is black (if possible).

Please let me know you are coming so I can prepare a booklet for you:

  1. Requiem Æternam (English Transcription)

  2. Kyrie VI (traditional for requiems)

  3. Psalm 31, “Save me, O Lord, in Your kindness.”

  4. “Alleluia Peregrinus”

  5. Offertory: Out of the depths / De Profundis – a simple chant arrangement derived from the version in the Graduale Simplex.

  6. Missa XVIII (Simple chant mass, in Latin, including the Mysterium Fidei)

  7. Communion:

    1. Lux Æterna (Men on odd verses; women on even verses)

    2. Exaltabo Te Domine our special choral piece

    3. God of the Living in Whose Eyes (Original hymn tune; see below)

  8. Recessional Hymn: O Lord, You Died That All Might Live to the chantified version of the tune NEUMARK (see below)

Please note: the final Kyrie has a special ending. Here is that Kyrie extracted by itself, in case it is helpful:
