Advent Alleluia 'Regem Venturum'

$0.00

This Alleluia is intended for Advent, and is based on the melody of the chant Regem venturum, Dominum, venite adoremus as found in the Cantus varii romano-seraphici, Solesmes, 1902, p. 10.

This advent refrain literally translates as “The King Who is coming, the Lord—come, let us adore Him!” a perfect sentiment to echo for the Advent season!

NB: THIS ACCLAMATION IS AVAILABLE IN TWO HARMONIZATIONS: Major & Minor. After posting the initial version harmonized in “minor” (really, the chant is modal) someone observed that the composer misinterpreted one of the intervals in the original chant. Consequently, a second version harmonized in “major” was also produced, to properly reflect the original chant. Both versions are nice, and either would be appropriate for the Advent season, so both are being offered as a single download.

A comprehensive playlist of practice tracks for each voice part of the MINOR VERSION is available HERE.

A comprehensive playlist of practice tracks for each voice part of the MAJOR VERSION is available HERE.

These scores are being offered for free. (You must add it to your cart, but can check out for $0, at which point you will receive a download link.)
