Ecce Virgo Concipiet (Behold, a Virgin Shall Conceive) • Advent Motet (SATB & SABar.)
Intended for Advent, this motet sets the text, “Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a Son, and they shall call Him, ‘Emmanuel’.” (This is quoted in the Gospel on Advent IV, Year A, although it is appropriate to sing every Advent.)
This exciting, yet approachable motet was written with modest resources (skill or manpower) in mind. Similar in difficulty to the Pitoni Cantate Domino, small choirs and choirs less-versed in singing polyphony can still sing something polyphonic in style, without too much difficulty. As ever, a handy, time-stamped practice video on the ServiamScores YouTube channel is ready to help your choir learn their music better than ever.
Purchase of this score permits you to print as many copies as you need for your choir/schola (you may not share the PDFs with third parties).
Once you’ve completed your purchase, you will receive an email with a link to download a zip file containing FOUR PDF’s:
1.) 2x regular, US letter for printing on all standard machines (SATB & SABar.)
2.) 2x 11x17 (“ledger” / "Tabloid") (SATB & SABar.) versions, intended for large parish copiers, where you can print it double-sided (flip on short edge) and fold it in half, as a “booklet”. For those who can avail themselves to such printers, this is an excellent way to go, because it includes a title page with an ‘incipit’ and then the music lays open in a single spread, and the pages cannot be separated from one another in a choir folder!
