25th in OT (C, 2022)
Greetings all—
Here is our ordo for 9/18/2022, the 25th Sunday in Ordinary Time.
Entrance Antiphon Hymn to the tune of AUSTRIAN HYMN.
Entrance Antiphon: Fr. Weber #1505
Psalm 113, “Praise the Lord Who lifts up the poor.”
NB: I did not have time to make a YouTube video this week, however I did make recordings of each part, which are linked below and you can just use the audio players on this page.Gospel Acclamation
Offertory Hymn: That steward accus’d to his Lord to the tune of JESU DULCIS MEMORIA.
Communion Antiphon: Fr. Weber #1519
Communion Motet: Lead me, Lord by S.S. Wesley
(There are two videos below; one is a “real” choir singing it (good to just get it in your ear) and the other is one of my early organ-only practice videos. This later video does have each voice part soloed out on a louder organ stop and is time stamped, so if you want to learn your SATB part, this is a good place to start.)Communion Hymn: Communio II
(UPDATE: there is now a video posted below.)Recessional: Praise to the Lord, the Almighty to the tune of LOBE DEN HERREN
Postlude: Menuet Quodlibet on Lobe Den Herren arranged by yours truly

Hello Friends,
I apologize for getting the full order out to you later than I anticipated; I had to stay home with Claire half the day yesterday as her pneumonia is trying to rear its head again. 😮💨
At any rate, here is our full ordo:
COMPLETE DALITZ ORDINARY
Entrance Hymn: Come Holy Ghost, Creator Blest. [No entrance antiphon.]
Psalm 104 “Lord, send out Your Spirit, and renew the face of the earth.” **NB: you will need a NEW COPY tomorrow morning; it turns out that the version that I gave you has the wrong verses, because the USCCB website has listed the verse numbers incorrectly.
Veni Santé Spiritus (Sequence)
Festal Alleluia
Offertory Hymn: O Spirit of the Living God (Canonbury; this is a tune and text we HAVE done before)
[Credo & Pater transcriptions]
Communion Antiphon: Factus Est, as adapted by Palmer/Burgess (audio-only track below)
May Thy Holy Spirit by Tchesnokov
Communion Hymn: O Holy Spirit, Now Descend on Me! (Eventide)
Regina Cæli [plainchant]
(Clicking on the little 1/5 icon in the upper right corner will take you to a YouTube playlist with all the other movements.)
**Don’t forget that you will need a new score for this tomorrow morning (with verses to match this video).
The good version will be portrait orientation, whereas the “bad” one is in landscape and has more verses.
MAKE SURE YOU LISTEN TO THIS AT LEAST ONCE
This is about a step higher than we will take it. (I say “about” because it’s European pitch which doesn’t match our A440.)
OFFERTORY HYMN TUNE
Here’s the original version of ‘May Thy Holy Spirit’.
COMMUNION HYMN TUNE
And just in case you want to hear what the prelude & postlude are supposed to sound like… (and what they will sound like once the new organ is in) 😎
Ascension (C / 2022)

Communion Antiphon: Psallite Domino Qui Ascendit
Communion Hymn: Do not stand and stare in wonder to the tune of Thaxted.
Regina Cæli by Lotti.
Any / all resources that I have are below in chronological order.

We will try to fit this in during incensation, but if that’s not possible, then we will do it during communion.
Same tune, different text.
Be ready for the response and versicle afterward!
Easter 6 (C)
Hello Friends,
Once again, you’ve all earned gold stars by learning an entire anthem within a single rehearsal. You all are amazing. I’ve said it many times before, and I’ll say it again: we may be small, but we are mighty!
We had a few holes in our schedule as of Wednesday, so here’s the full run-down:
Entrance Antiphon Hymn to the tune Sine Nomine (often sung to the text “For all the saints”). You can preview the melody by clicking here.
Entrance Antiphon: Fr. Weber #819
Psalm 67: “O God let all the nations praise You!” — I did not have enough time to make a normal practice track, but here is a quick organ recording just to refresh your memory.
Offertory Anthem: Peace I Leave With You by Amy Beach — You did such an excellent job with this on Wednesday; please be sure to give this a listen through once or twice just to make sure we really have it cemented well. Odds are we will end up singing it twice through.
Communion Anthem: If Ye Love Me by Tallis. (For your viewing pleasure.)
Communion Hymn: With my whole heart I’ve sought Thy Face to the tune of ‘Nun Danket All Und Bringet Ehr’. This is a tune which should(?) be familiar to you; I believe we’ve done it in the past. But even if we have not, it is not difficult. Here’s the score along with a quick organ preview of how it goes. [You can click here to see the score in the event that the preview window below doesn’t show up properly on your device. Sometimes it loads, sometimes it doesn’t and I can't diagnose the issue at present.]
See you all Sunday morning!
Pax,
James
