Easter 4 (2022)
Greetings all,
Here’s a quick reminder of our plan for this week; this week’s list consists of the highlights only, and any resources I have available will be placed below the list. (It will be quicker to code and easier to read this way.)
Fr. Weber 776
Psalm 100
Fr. Weber 790 **NB: I recorded both a ‘straight’ version (simplified rhythms) as well as the original as set by Father Weber; we will sing the simplified version.
Casciolini’s Panis Angelicus (the score is free for anyone to print at home)
Easter 2 (Divine Mercy)
Hello Friends,
I hope you enjoyed having this past Wednesday off! You’ve most certainly deserved it! The feedback that I have received has been singularly praiseworthy of all of your efforts. People took notice of the ‘joyful noise’ that we made!
A quick note before I forget: this coming Wednesday we will resume rehearsal, however we will start late at 7:30. The school’s spring concert is at 6pm and I am supposed to accompany the children for some of their songs (and of course I’d like to see my own son sing too!).
As for tomorrow, here is our lineup:
Introit: Fr. Weber #706
Entrance Hymn: Entrance Antiphon Hymn to the tune: O Filii et Filiæ (‘O sons & daughters let us sing’)
Psalm 118: This is a psalm that we sang last year, so hopefully it will come right back to us. Here’s an organ only audio track and a PDF of the score:
Gospel Acclamation: Same as we sang Easter Morning
Offertory:
• 4:30pm / 7:30am: Offertory Antiphon Hymn to the tune of Azmon
•. 11am: With a Voice of Singing
Community Mass
Communion Antiphon: Fr. Weber #726
Communion Hymn: Christ the Lord is Risen Again to the tune: Christ ist Erstanden*
This hymn is probably not as familiar to you, but it’s a good one and we should know it. Have a listen before tomorrow. It is #442 in the hymnals.
Solemn Dismissal (in English)
Recessional Hymn: Christ the Lord is Ris’n Today to the tune Llanfair
Master list of 2022 Triduum Resources
As promised, here are the practice tracks that I currently have available. Some are polished, some are not (and for these latter I do apologize they aren’t quite up to snuff, but they are better than nothing!). Don’t forget that most of the YT vids have timestamps for individual voice parts in the description.
Maundy Thursday
Good Friday
Easter Vigil
same notes, just different verses at the vigil.
This is the REFRAIN that we will be doing after each baptism as well as Easter Morning. You can ignore the verse which is for confirmation.
There ARE timestamps where the organ solos out parts if you need them.
This is one thing I forgot to rehearse with you on Wednesday, however we have sung it previously. Have a listen, and if we can all do it, great, if not, I’ll carry the refrain and have you all chant the verses.
Easter Morning
Here is a nice sung version that is slowed down relative to our tempo. This is a good one to listen to to hear your notes.
Lastly, here’s a recording of our Easter II anthem so you can listen to it occasionally to get it in your ear. I’m very much looking forward to this!
Lent V (C)
Peace be to you—
Thank you for rolling with the punches on Wednesday and plowing through so much music! Now is the time of chastening for all choirs as we stretch ourselves to the absolute limit for love of Our Lord and His most holy Passion.
I know that this Sunday was not wholly fleshed out at the time of rehearsal, so please take a moment to scan this list to familiarize yourself with the rest of our music. Thank you for being so flexible and patient with me!
Entrance Antiphon Hymn: Judge me, O God of Justice to the tune of Llangloffan.
Entrance Antiphon: Fr. Weber #492
Missa XVII
Psalm: 126, The Lord has done great things for us; we are filled with Joy!
Gospel Acclamation: Salvation, Glory, and Power…
Offertory Hymn: Think gently of the Erring One to the tune of Morning Song:
Our Father: Pater Noster Transcription
Communion Antiphon: Nemo te condemnavit (english transcription)
Communion Motet: Take up thy cross and follow Me
Communion Hymn: God, in Thy Pity to the tune of Herzliebster Jesu:
Recessional Hymn: Lord, Thine Image Thou Hast Lent Me to the tune of All Saints. (This is a tune that we haven’t done in a while, but should ring familiar to you.)
Lent IV (C)
Hello Friends—

Lent III (C)
Greetings all‚
This week’s list isn’t going to be pretty, but it will get the job done. Anything underlined is a clickable link.
First here’s our worship aid if you’d like to scan it ahead of time.
Entrance Hymn: My eyes are looking always toward the Lord, to the tune: Llangoffan.
Entrance Antiphon: Fr. Weber 417 (sub-par recording from two years ago… sorry!)
Psalm 103 (same as a few weeks ago but with different text for verses 3&4)
Offertory Hymn: The precepts of the Lord are right, to the tune: Tallis’ Third Mode Melody
Communion Antiphon: Fr. Weber 439 (same condition as the previous one)
Communion Motet: Exaudi Deus by Giovanni Croce
Communion Hymn: My Jesus as Thou will it, to the tune: Passion Chorale.
Recessional Hymn: Maiden Who weepest for Thy Son, to the tune: Erhalt Uns Herr (if you’re able, switch this to playback speed 1.5x; this recording is way too slow! Also, this is a continuation of the text we started two weeks ago.)
See you Sunday morning!
James
