Sequence:

  1. Organ plays intro

  3. People & Choir respond once (with choir in parts)

  4. Choir sings verse a cappella

  5. People and Choir respond twice, before the Choir continues into the coda.

NB: the following recording is organ-only, but in the time stamps you can find “learning speed” (slowed down) solos of each voice part for the coda, which may be helpful to some of you.

2026 Diaconal Ordination • Strings Guide

Greetings all—
Here is our signup and ordo for Hector’s Diaconal ordination.

Ordination is the morning of Saturday, May 16th.

Warmups are at 8:30am
Mass starts at 10am

Attire is “Sunday best”.


Here’s the basic rundown:

  • Processional Hymn: Praise to the Lord, the Almighty (LOBE DEN HERREN)

    • Basic SATB strings, alternating verses. Violins I & II play descant on final verse (separate page)

  • Kyrie and Gloria from Missa de Angelis TACET

    • Strings Tacet

  • Psalm 96: “Go out to all the world and teach all nations alleluia.” (YouTube Playlist)

    • Strings only play during chanted verses, following along with the natural sung speech, mp.

  • Festival Alleluia by Chepponis

    • This will be raucous; play out. Here’s the full sequence:

      • Organ fanfare intro

      • Organ (soft) + Cantor Demo of the refrain

      • ALL repeat the refrain forte.

      • Choir chants verse

Note: Just as at the Chrism Mass, we will sing it with more energy than this (and a faster tempo) but this is a good practice track in terms of being very clear, with each phrase is easy to hear and digest. We will also sing in alternatim with the congregation; that is: we will sing every other phrase as a choir alone, with the congregation responding on the next phrase.
